EXPERIENCE & CASE HISTORIES

Prior to 1990: Harvey Miller owned and operated 28 car washes.

1990: Designed and built Harv’s Car Wash and Car Care Center in Palm Desert, California one of the first car care centers built in California. This “all-in-one” concept included a full service car wash, ten bay detail center, oil lube, smog inspection and a vehicle repair center.

1993: Designed and built for himself two state of the art free standing oil lube facilities in Sacramento, California. When Miller would not convert to Jiffy Lube Franchises, Jiffy Lube purchased facilities to prevent Miller from competing with other company operated stores in the area.

1994: Retained by Mr. David Leach to educate him about car washing and to help locate a facility. Miller identified a distressed car wash in Temecula, California, negotiated with the seller on behalf of Leach and helped close the sale. Advised in operation, marketing, managing and how to increase volume and income. After four years of operation, Miller was retained to appraise the business and assist in selling. Prepared a Business Offering Booklet to market the business, and within four weeks sold the facility and property to a major car wash consolidator. Leach was very pleased with the profits he received from the operation as well as the sale.

1997: Repossessed a distressed car wash that Miller had sold seven years earlier. Completely renovated the facility and property and increased the income from $400,000.00 to $1,000,000.00 annually over a period of three years and resold the business in mid 2000.

1999: Retained by Mr. Bruce Soroudi, prospective purchaser of a car wash in Santa Monica, California. Miller analyzed the business and made recommendations. Client purchased the car wash and gave Miller a one year contract to oversee the operation on a part-time basis. Recommended a general manager and developed a marketing and operations program. After first year of operation, income and volume increased substantially.

2002: Purchased and renovated a low volume, full service facility in Orange County, California. Converted operation to Flex-Service washing and immediately increased wash volume significantly.

2003: Retained by Mr. Jack Berry and Mr. Terry Brennan to analyze property in Pinckney, Michigan where they desired to build “Exterior only” car wash. After presenting report of analysis and recommendations, client proceeded. Consulted on developing plans, equipment and building the facility. Introduced them to equipment companies and negotiated on their behalf, to assure proper and effective equipment at the best price. Results - one of the finest equipment packages installed saving thousands of dollars. Assisted in building and opening the business for over 9 months. Business opened in November, 2003, producing excellent volume and achieving a quality express car wash.

Over the past 26 years, Car Wash / Oil Lube Consultants has provided services nationwide to hundreds of clients, who desired to build, buy, sell, diversify, add a Detailing and/or Oil Lube Center or needing Expert Witness Services.
